Description
This stamp represents a view of Quebec's cantilevered bridge engraved from a photograph. One of the major engineering achievements of this type, it extends over the St. Lawrence River near Quebec City. After seven years of construction, it was completed in 1918. It is over one kilometer long and has a main span of 1,800 feet. This design was chosen to focus on engineering and transportation achievements.
