UV Lamps
Since many stamp varieties differ only because of a change in fluorescent or phosphorescent tagging, you'll need an ultra-violet lamp to sort them. Lamps with UV tubes listed below are low-priced, and very useful (for Winnipeg taggings for example).
This unit detects fluorescence in the short-wave spectrum of U.V. light with maximum radiation at 256 nm. Suitable for All Canadian stamps including the Winnipeg tagged. Also suitable for the stamps of Great Britain, Israel and the United States. Portable and lightweight. Uses 4 AA batteries (not included).
This unit detects fluorescence in the spectrum of Longwave U.V. light with maximum radiation at 366 nm. Suitable for the modern stamps of Canada as well as the stamps of France, Mexico, Portugal and China. Portable and lightweight. Uses 4 AA batteries (not included).
